Smart Compressed Air System Supports High-End Glass Coating Production in Guangdong

HUADA recently visited a high-end glass coating manufacturer in Guangdong to examine how its compressed air station performs under real production conditions. The manufacturer specializes in the surface processing of cosmetic glass bottles, including coating, printing, electroplating and hot stamping. In these processes, compressed air affects not only equipment operation but also production continuity and finished-product quality.

Glass coating production requires a stable supply of clean compressed air. Excessive oil, moisture or impurities may interfere with coating consistency and surface quality, while pressure fluctuations can affect the performance of pneumatic equipment. To meet different air-demand conditions, the station uses two 100 HP two-stage screw air compressors together with one 50 HP single-stage screw air compressor. The units operate in coordination, allowing the system to match changing production demand more efficiently.

The air station is also equipped with air-treatment equipment, storage tanks and a low-loss compressed air piping system. The pipeline uses a smooth inner surface and clamp-type connections, reducing the need for conventional threaded joints and excessive fittings. By limiting unnecessary bends, joints and local restrictions, the system helps reduce pressure loss and delivers compressed air more smoothly from the compressor room to the production lines.

According to the customer, the most noticeable improvement is stable air supply with relatively low operating noise. Combined with the downstream air-treatment system and optimized piping layout, the compressed air quality is better controlled for demanding glass coating processes. This gives the production team greater confidence when managing operations where oil, moisture and particles must be carefully controlled.

Digital management is another important part of the project. Through the connected monitoring platform, the customer can centrally view operating data, air consumption and power usage. Abnormal conditions can be identified more quickly, while production managers gain a clearer understanding of energy use and operating costs. Instead of relying only on manual inspections and experience, the team can use actual system data to support production scheduling, maintenance and cost analysis.

Reliable compressed air depends on more than the compressor itself. Correct equipment selection, air treatment, storage capacity, piping design, installation, commissioning and after-sales service all influence long-term system performance. From stable air supply to intelligent operation management, this Guangdong project demonstrates how an integrated compressed air solution can support the daily production needs of high-end glass finishing manufacturers.
